Metropolis Pre-Kindergarten

Overview:

The Massac County Unit #1 Pre-Kindergarten Program is funded by the school district to provide high-quality early childhood programs for children three to five years of age.  Massac Pre-Kindergarten promotes physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development in young children while responding to the needs of the family with resources to empower parents as their children's first and primary teachers.

 Our Mission: 

The mission of the Pre-Kindergarten Program is to provide a safe nurturing environment for children from varied social and environmental backgrounds 
to excel in a play-based setting according to each child's individual need.

Program Goals:

-To provide an opportunity for children to individually develop at his/her own level through a play-based learning center environment.
-To provide discovery experiences in such a way that students have a contagious enthusiasm for living and learning.
-To assist parents in building skills and developing confidence in their multiple roles as educators of their children.
-To provide learning experiences so that parental interest is sustained and maximizes throughout the child's education process.
